Head of IT Operations
Our client is looking for a technical leader who will run IT operations like a business and execute roadmaps across a diverse set of corporate infrastructure technologies & support services including design & architecture, system administration, service desk, field support & other specialty support areas. Scaling operations, developing talent & providing situational leadership are just a few of the challenges that this role must succeed in to support our continued company growth. This position is full-time and located in the Palo Alto office.
Responsibilities: - Build consensus around key goals for IT operations & align cross org teams to aggressively peruse them. Drive accountability & results across a matrix org to achieve goals - Maintain a strategic customer focus - develops positive customer relationships, understands business needs/demands, carefully evaluates changing business environment to help steer team(s) in the right direction, ensures there is clear communication on progress/updates with stakeholders/customers. - Maintains effective partnerships across the organization and is able to influence stakeholders, peers and subordinates through an inclusive style and recognition of their abilities and knowledge. Balances team and individual responsibilities. Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views. Gives and welcomes on-going feedback. Puts success of team above own interest - Establish key metrics that measure the performance & effectiveness of the individuals/team & initiatives. Leverage metrics to drive all decisions, identify improvement initiatives and/or justify budget/headcount. Effectively manage SLAs and OLAs. - Drive on-going focus on cost efficiency & set targets and measures to help gauge progress. Actively manage the budget plan against actual spend and closely monitor budget variance. Invest in an automation roadmap to continually deliver more self service & process automation. - Steer organizational efficiency into an on-going improvement cycle. Incorporate key goals directly linked to results from employee survey, develop & motivate talent, develop & hold individuals/teams accountable, recognize individuals/teams on meeting/exceeding goals and have fun along the way. Appropriately delegate, while maintaining accountability. - Demonstrate advanced analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are often novel and not readily defined, lack known precedent or appear contradictory. Able to develop solutions by applying accepted processes or is able to create new approaches to leverage technology from abstract information. Sees the big picture, and is fully aware of technology and business directions - Oversee change management plans/practices for all aspects IT operations
Requirements: - BS in computer science or a related field (MBA or MS preferred) - Seasoned IT leader with 14+ years experience - Experienced in Microsoft Exchange, Active directory & virtualization technologies - Experienced in running & scaling a global customer service organization - Experienced in complex architectures/designs, HA, DR & security considerations - Demonstrated ability to lead a team of 50 or more - Strong analytical skills and a demonstrable bias toward action - Strong business acumen
